Ladies Cricket at Gedling and Sherwood
In 2009 G&S CC launched a new initiative to attract Ladies to the club with the formation of a Ladies Squad. This was a roaring success and by the end of 2009 we had one of the largest Senior Ladies’ Squads in South Notts. Our success has led to a joint development programme, in conjunction with Notts County Cricket Club, in 2010. Please see our latest news section for more information.
Our Ladies Squad is open to any ladies over the age of 14, who are interested in trying out the game. Most of our Ladies Squad had never played before joining us, so previous experience is not necessary!
We have a friendly squad that is always keen to welcome new players and the focus is on fun and learning. A number of our Ladies have children at the Academy, and have taken the chance to learn the game while their kids are occupied, as Ladies training is at the same time on Sundays as the Academy (10:30am-12pm every week in the summer)
We hope to develop the squad to the point where we can challenge some of the other Ladies teams in Notts, perhaps even towards the end of 2010.
