Senior Cricket at Gedling and Sherwood
Here at Gedling and Sherwood we have 4 senior cricket teams. The first team play in Division A of the South Nottinghamshire cricket league with the second team in Division G and the third team in Division P.

Our 1st XI plays in Division A, the highest in the South Notts Cricket League. This Division feeds the Nottinghamshire Premier League and, as such, constitutes a high standard of club cricket. Our First team sets the standard for all players at G&S CC and is where our young players should aspire to playing.

Our 2nd XI plays in Division G of the South Notts Cricket League and is a mixture of younger players, who have the potential to play for the 1st XI, and Senior players, who are passing on the benefit of their experience to the next generation of G&S CC. Our aim is to get the 2nd XI as high up the league ladder as possible, to narrow the gap between 1st & 2nd teams, to make the step up to 1st XI cricket easier.

Our 3rd XI plays in Division P of the South Notts Cricket League. Re-formed in 2009, our 3rd XI is where our Academy graduates can get their first taste of senior league cricket. Our aim is to “blood” our youngsters in an environment where gaining experience is the priority, rather than winning promotion. Under the stewardship of some experienced Senior players we enjoyed some great successes in 2009’s season and expect this to continue in 2010.
